By using frequency and rhythmic 'entrainment', a sound bath facilitates a shift in brainwaves from our normal waking state to alpha and theta states which are the states of consciousness akin to being in deep meditation. Nate Martinez, an integrative sound therapist, will create a sonic experience for INNER FIELDS by playing a wide variety of live instruments which will 'bathe' you in sound frequencies known to induce this deep state of relaxation. These include shamanic drumming, Biosonic tuning forks, gongs, a shruti box, Himalayan singing bowls, mbiru, chimes, percussion and voice.

There are two sessions available and each will last for around 1.5 hours. Each session will be limited to 8 people. Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket and eye mask (if you choose to cover your eyes during the session).

Nate Martinez is a musician and sound therapist who has spent the past 25 years professionally performing and investigating the theory of music. Recognizing the healing quality of sound and its ability to cultivate empathy through better listening, he studied sound therapy at the Open Center with sound pioneer Sylvia Nakkach, sound healer John Beaulieu and music therapist Ginger Clarkson, amongst others. For more information please visit www.ntmsoundhealing.com
