Solidarity Sangha

A spiritual refuge for all those dedicated to anticolonial struggle.

First Monday of every month

6.30 - 8.30pm

Buddhist temple in Newtown, Gadigal-Wangal

Solidarity Sangha was formed by Elaine Su-Hui, Alicia Zhao, and Joannie Lee as the Sydney chapter of Inner Fields Sangha (BK/NY). We are a community of activists, organizers, artists, and cultural workers offering a spiritual refuge for all those dedicated to anticolonial struggle. We stand in solidarity with Palestinian liberation and resistance, and the interconnected struggle here with First Nations movements.

Solidarity Sangha is a peer-led space grounded in mindfulness and somatic practices from the Buddhist tradition. We meet monthly at a Buddhist temple on Gadigal-Wangal land to practice meditation, cultivate embodied resilience, and strengthen solidarity across our various movements.

We offer a socially engaged, justice-centred approach to spiritual practice within a creative atmosphere. No previous experience or knowledge of Buddhism or meditation is required to join us! We are welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of all faith and no-faith backgrounds and traditions.
