The first day of the Lunar New Year is considered to be the birthday of Maitreya, the next Buddha-to-be. The name 'Maitreya' translates to 'Buddha of Love' and it has been proposed that Maitreya Buddha is likely to be a community of people rather than a single person.

To honor and celebrate this deeply symbolic and auspicious day, Inner Fields will be exploring the idea of universal love with a Lunar New Year Longevity Meal (for a healthy, long life) and a ceremonial Gift Exchange (for generosity, luck and prosperity). All guests are encouraged to wear the colour red - the symbol of joy, virtue, truth, sincerity, and the sacred.

The studio will be transformed with New Years decorations which symbolize good luck and blessings. Please bring organic round fruits (symbols of prosperity, abundance and completeness) as contributions to bless the space. White or black colors are discouraged. Your gift, and your intention to give, will become part of the ceremony. The Longevity Meal will be organic, vegetarian and gluten free.

Inner Fields is located in a private studio in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. RSVP below to receive the address.
