Grief takes us places... The past... the future... deep inside... outside ourselves. Grief is a portal.

Closing out this tumultuous year on the eve of the full moon, join us in community with an expression of release and a movement of energy, using grief as a portal.

Calling in grief as a welcome guest, this communal space will allow us to slow down, to see an opening, to notice and feel the impact of loss; while reflecting on and being with whatever shows up. Somatic practices, journaling and meditation will be integrated.

Opening to grief can allow us to connect. Memories, emotions, tears, laughter, silence, absence, longing. Grief is a portal to many dimensions of the heart. Join us in allowing for the presence and movement of grief.

For intimacy, this space will be limited to 20 participants. All are welcome.

Peace Twesigye is a (grand)daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, niece, friend, listener, musician, educator, advocate. Peace is her ancestors' dream and a family wish (for peace).

Holding some of these roles professionally, holding some of these roles from birth, and others holding these roles for her to remember, Peace is currently spending much of her time in the role of Program Manager of Buddhist Studies and the Thích Nhất Hạnh Program for Engaged Buddhism at Union Theological Seminary. When Peace is not in that role or facilitating contemplative practice online, she is likely either reading, writing, cooking and eating, talking to family and friends, or making music. Once her sprained ankle is healed, Peace will return to daily walks in Prospect Park visiting her favorite trees too!
